World Urban Forum 12
The 12th edition of the World Urban Forum (WUF12), organized by UN-Habitat, will be held from 4 to 8 November 2024 in Cairo, Egypt. This landmark event is expected to draw over 20,000 participants, including leaders, policymakers, and urban thinkers from around the world, all united in their mission to create a more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient future for cities around the world.
With the theme "Sustainable Urban Future: Inclusive and Resilient Cities", WUF12 will focus on addressing the critical challenges posed by rapid urbanization, climate change, housing inequality, and the need for more equitable urban development. Through workshops, discussions, networking events, and knowledge-sharing sessions, the forum will provide a unique platform to explore innovative solutions and best practices that promote sustainability in urban environments.
The forum is structured to facilitate open dialogues on how cities can evolve in response to social, economic, and environmental pressures, while fostering collaboration between global north and south stakeholders.
The WUF12 will be a pivotal event for anyone invested in the future of urban living. The decisions and discussions held in Cairo this November could help shape the direction of global urban policies for years to come.
The SUR Lab Bocconi will also participate in WUF12 by hosting a workshop with UN-Habitat. For more information on this Workshop click HERE.
